Procedural Writing February 16, 2011

Filed under: Our Work — Miss Dillon @ 5:44 pm

We have been working on procedural writing for a few weeks now. So far we have written three procedures:

  • how to brush your teeth
  • how to play a CD
  • how to make a cup of tea

We discuss the steps involved and then the children decide the sequence.

Take a look at their lovely work: (click on the photo’s for a closer view)

List of contact numbers for parents February 10, 2011

Filed under: News — Miss Dillon @ 7:58 pm

Last week I sent home notes regarding a list of parent contact numbers for the new class. A few parents thought it would be useful to have a list for sending out birthday invitations by text/ setting up play dates and so on. Anyone who wanted their details on the list will get the sheet tomorrow (it will be in your childs bag/ journal).

Thanks, Miss. Dillon.

Show and Tell Friday February 6, 2011

Sophie Jones recently visited South Africa and she brought in a fantastic project to show the class. We were amazed and very impressed by the effort and hard work she put into the project. It was a very interesting project and we enjoyed learning a little bit about Nelson Mandela too. Well done Sophie- brilliant work!

Filed under: News — Miss Dillon @ 6:56 pm

Just a short reminder that there is a staff meeting tomorrow 2nd February therefore the children will be going home at 12.00.

We had a visit from some members of the Green Schools Committee today. They are working very hard to try and earn a green flag for our school. Today our class wrote about keeping our school green and Ms.McIntyre has displayed some of our work on the green school’s notice board! We will psot pictures of our work here tomorrow.
